The Future is Bright!

WSO launched its highly anticipated The Future is Bright program on Saturday, February 5th, 2022 with a festive Pre-Prom Party, thanks to the partnership of Hawaii Pacific University. The event was a huge success, and we were able to host 42 students from James Campbell High School, Farrington High School, Kamehameha Schools, and Waipahu High School. Due to Covid mandates and restrictions, we made this Self Love celebration available as a livestream via YouTube for all to enjoy. We would like to thank everyone involved, and we are looking forward to the next event in The Future is Bright program!

Future is Bright Summit

Looking forward to 2022, we will be hosting our Future is Bright Summit, a 12-week educational series with curriculum that focuses on four fundamental areas: Communication, Goals, Relationships, and Self-Love. Students will learn invaluable life skills such as financial literacy, job interview techniques, resume writing, and how to manifest your dreams. WSO is committed to giving out $10,000 worth of scholarships, and to ensure our Future is Bright Summit is a success, we are asking our Ohana for support through student sponsorship. With your $500 donation, we can fully sponsor a student for this comprehensive 12-week program, and your generosity provides unique resources and tools that traditional education does not offer. We also gratefully accept partial sponsorships as every donation makes an impact. Thank you for your support in ensuring our Future is Bright!

The Feminist Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, we heard these romantic cliches and wholeheartedly subscribed to the adages. These are sayings from our favorite movies, lyrics from classic karaoke bangers, and excerpts from beloved novels. The prototypical concept of love and romance that has been ingrained in young women is as predictable and formulaic as 9th-grade Algebra. And much like high school math, I have a huge problem with it.

What Does Self Love Mean?

Self Love... what does that even mean? I can tell you it's something that I have alway struggled with since I was in my teens and continue to struggle with. I realized that I am emotionally fragile, and that I needed to find a way to take back what I had lost from the hands of my abusers.
